My training is in sculpture, mainly ceramics. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the University of NC at Greensboro in 2009. I feel that an artist should always try to learn new techniques, how to use new materials, etc. in order to become better at their craft. I built a wood fire kiln in 2011. I find inspiration in random places and things. In general though the shapes I work with are curving, arcing, and full rounded. Currently I'm working on Halloween/Horror themed objects for myself and some for my etsy shop. I am also working on ways to earn money to take the few semesters of classes I need to earn a K-12 Art Ed degree. Some artists feel driven to send political/social messages with their art. Others create art for the simple pleasure of the act of creating. I feel the most important thing I can do as an artist is teach, train and inspire as many others as possible to become artists ( preferably sculptors, I'm not ashamed of my bias lol ).
